“All three beautiful fluff covers are fully visible, sit up and prepare breakfast,” Okuratan’s friend shared on his Facebook page. “They look dry, healthy and energetic. The latest food will still have a lot of food in their egg yolks as they look around.”

The nonprofit conservation team runs a 24-hour webcam that trains on the Eagle’s Nest overlooking Big Bear Lake and closely monitors the bird couple for a decade. Sandy Steers, executive director of Big Bear Valley Friends, said the live broadcast has seen record ratings recently.

Thousands of people followed the Eagles’ parenting journey and were inspired by the good news on Saturday, which was a year-long disappointment.
