Dramatic moments Women and children narrowly escape from the manhole explosion

Dramatic footage released by the local fire department showed a family in upstate New York nearly escaped the moment the manhole exploded on April 19.

The Poughkeepsey Fire Department has published shocking videos. It said three manholes exploded on Saturday afternoon.

ABC reported that video shows Lisa Davis and her two grandchildren.

“I don’t know what to do except grab my grandson and run,” Davis said.

“I really can’t run straight to the corner because the manhole in the next corner was also blown up,” she said.

The explosion occurs when carbon monoxide levels rise in multiple local buildings. “The company found that carbon monoxide levels were high in multiple buildings and crew members of all buildings in the neighborhood were evacuated until gas levels could be lowered,” the department said.
