16-year-old arrested for crashing with South El Monte

Authorities said a 16-year-old boy allegedly fled and killed a man who tried to stop at his brother’s brother’s store earlier this month.
Police said Kourosh “Steve” Yaghoubi was killed after facing the shoplifter in April 9 at a giant discount store owned by her brother’s family. It is not clear whether the teen was in the store at any time the incident occurred.
Yaghoubi was unconscious and suffered blunt trauma when authorities arrived, according to a department release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff.

The detectives discovered vehicles used to evade the car, which brought them to the 16-year-old suspect, authorities wrote in a press release. Because the suspect is a minor, the authorities will not release his name.
