Don’t expect iOS 18.5 public beta 1, small changes coming

Apple released its first public beta for iOS 18.5 on April 15, which has released iOS 18.4 to the public for more than two weeks after it released iOS 18.4. While the update brings more emojis to all iPhones, the latest beta brings some bug fixes and offers some minor changes to developers and public beta testers’ mailing apps, but nothing else.

Since this is a beta version, I recommend downloading it only on something other than the main device. This is not the final version of iOS 18.5, so the update may be an off-road vehicle, and battery life may be affected – it’s better to leave these hassles on the auxiliary device.

Note that Beta is not the final version of iOS 18.5, so more features can be landed on iPhone when it is released. There is no news about when Apple will update iOS 18.5 to the public.

Here is what your iPhone is about to appear on iOS 18.5. Just remind you that only developers and Beta testers with the iPhone 15 Pro, Pro Max or iPhone 16 lineup will now have access to the Apple Intelligence feature. If you have other iPhones, you won’t be able to access these features.

Apple has introduced some small mail app updates in iOS 18.5 beta. One of these updates allows you to adjust the app’s settings by mailing or hiding contact photos. Contact photos are images on the left side of the email in the email and help determine who sent these emails.

Mail will display a contact poster by default, but you can turn it off using the iOS 18.5 Beta app. To do this, open mailclick three dots () In the upper right corner of the screen, then click Show contact photos. All your emails will now display a preview of the subject line and messages, similar to what the pre-IOS 18 email looks like.

This option is in iOS 18.4, but is already buried set up And it’s not easy to find.

Another update involves categories. If mode is enabled, you can now see a small tab on the right side of the screen near other categories. Slide the category bar near the top of the message on the left, and this small tab will expand to reveal the categories All emails.

This category is not new and you can find it in iOS 18.4. But there is no small tab on the right side of the screen to indicate that it appears off-screen. so, All emails Flying under the radar – I didn’t even know the option was at this beta.

This category seems to be a way to enable both category and list view – the front category view of the message. By knocking All emailsyou are viewing messages in any category for free, just like in a list view.

Is there anything else in Beta?

Not something I can say, I’m not surprised. Apple’s global developer conference is scheduled for June, so iOS 18.5 may be sparse, so Apple can focus on iOS 19.

However, there may be more beta before iOS 18.5 is released to the public, so Apple has plenty of time to change these features or add more. Apple has not announced when iOS 18.5 will be released to the public.
