Allegedly trying to drive Tesla driver out of the way: Report: Report, Utah man arrested

A highway confrontation in Utah has jailed a 27-year-old man who allegedly tried to escape the road by police as intentional and dangerous road rampage.
According to an affidavit obtained by KSL.com, Oscar Fayani said on the Utah Highway Patrol Friday morning that he deliberately hit Tesla while driving at more than 100 mph on Interstate 80.
After 10 a.m., the soldiers were alerted when multiple 911 callers reported a reckless gold sedan and drove a “road rage” in a black Tesla.
Witnesses say the sedan woven in the driveway, trailing, blocking the vehicle from passing and increasing the speed at 120 miles per hour.

According to the affidavit, a driver told the officer that he had to speed up to 95 mph to escape. The Tesla driver told the soldier that the King’s sedan had done it on purpose, and that his car hit him even after he escaped from the highway.

When he returned to I-80 minutes, the Tesla driver said the sedan was waiting and tried to push him away again.
The soldiers found and stopped the suspect’s vehicle near Great Satar. According to the affidavit, Fayani was found to be driving with two proactive in-regional warrants.
Soldiers searched the vehicle and reportedly found drug paraphernalia, marijuana rollers and two small bags with white powder on it, which later tested positive for cocaine.

According to the affidavit, “During stock, under the back seat cushion…two small bags, with residues of white powdery substances, consistent with methamphetamine or cocaine or similar drug use.”
Fayani was booked at Tooele County Prison and faces multiple charges, including aggravated attacks, which could raise road rage, reckless driving, driving driver’s license, possession of drug paraphernalia and two prescription arrest warrants.
His total bonds were set at $910.

Although authorities have not said whether it was a targeted attack, the incident took place in a wider trend of destruction and hostility targeting Tesla owner and CEO Elon Musk.
Tesla drivers reportedly were harassed or blocked by pneumatic vehicles at charging stations, which was called “ice and snow”. Others used the car’s built-in sentinel camera to capture vandalism – keys, windows smashed and tires cut.
