That’s Why Podcaster Joe Rogan Gives Up on Alcohol

Joe Rogan joins the growing Teettalers tribe.

Podcaster, 57, said in his recent Joe Rogan Experience that he gave up drinking.

“I think I’m done,” he said. “There’s no choice but to that, which is against you.”

Rogan noted that he didn’t have to quit and liked it, but the days after drinking were “too rough”.

“I thought, ‘What kind of idiot is taking care of his body, gasing a few days a week?” he continued. ‘ “Why should I do this?”

Rogan, who is also a UFC commentator, said he asked himself: “Will I still have the same fun if I didn’t poison myself?”

“It turns out, yes,” he said.

“I think I’m done,” he said. “There’s no choice but to that, which is against you.”

Other celebrities who are open to their drinking habits include Brad Pitt, Rob Lowe, Valerie Bertinelli, Bradley Cooper and Elle MacPherson.

Dr. Brett Osborn, a Florida neurologist and longevity expert, said alcohol abstinence may be one of the most influential and modifyable risk factors for age-related illnesses and obesity, second only to withdrawing from tobacco.

“Alcohol is a neurotoxin that disrupts neurotransmission, promotes neuroinflammation and is directly associated with an increased risk of neurodegenerative diseases such as dementia,” he told Fox News Digital.

He warned that this also harms the body, impairs glucose metabolism and interferes with blood sugar regulation.

“This helps metabolic dysfunction and visceral fat accumulation and increases the likelihood of type 2 diabetes,” he said.

Osborne notes that studies also show that alcohol is a carcinogen, even with higher rates of cancer in the liver, breast, esophagus, colon and head and neck, even with lower consumption rates.

“When someone quit drinking, the benefits are immediate and profound,” he said.

“Sleep improves in a few days, energy levels rebound, inflammation subsides, joint damage and insulin sensitivity rewards.”

GLP-1 agonists like Ozempic and Wegovy (originally developed for type 2 diabetes and now used for weight loss) have also shown early hopes to help individuals reduce alcohol intake.

“Patients with these drugs not only noticed a significant suppression of appetite, but also had a sharp relief of ‘thirst’ to alcohol,” Osborne said. “Most people stopped drinking completely within six to 12 months.”

Neurosurgeons predict that these drugs may soon become part of a dual litigation strategy – “promoting alcohol withdrawal while promoting fat loss and improving human metabolic health, thereby reducing the risk of nearly all non-infectious age-related diseases.”
