A travel helicopter crashed into the Hudson River last week and killed six people, including three children, according to a new aerial video released by the New York City Police Department (NYPD).

Aerial videos responding on April 10 showed divers jumping into hazy water from a New York police boat and wading towards muddy planes.

The Bell 206 L-4 helicopter was reversed as divers worked to restore the pilot and five passengers, including Agustin Escobar, his wife Mercè Camprubí Montal and their three young children.

During a news conference Wednesday, officials said the New York Police Department’s diving unit was looking for a missing person in the river, contributing to its quick response to the coastline of Jersey City, New Jersey.

“The phone came over and we headed to the helicopter crash as soon as possible,” said Joseph Frevola, an NYPD Scuba unit official. “We were there in about eight to ten minutes.”

Although weather conditions during the rescue were not favorable, Frevilla said the team focused on finding the tail and main rotor of the plane to help with the investigation.

According to the NTSB, divers were able to find the main fuselage, including the cockpit and cabin, the front of the tail arm, the horizontal stabilizer Fent and the vertical fin.

Investigators continued to use interscanning sonar to search for the wreckage.

Helicopter operator, New York Helicopter Charter Inc. reported that the plane had its last inspection on March 1 and completed seven circuit flights before the wreckage occurred.

Authorities are still working to determine the cause of the crash.
