Valerie Bertinelli did not allow her son Wolfgang Van Halen to create a Van Halen biopic until after her death.
Bertinelli, who married Eddie Van Halen from 1981 to 2007, recently talked about the possibility of a band-based film on “The Show of Drew Barrymore” as four install biopics of the Beatles are in production.
“Oh my goodness, I hope they’ll never do Van Halen. Make sure I’m dead. I told Wolf, ‘Make sure I’m dead,'” Bettinelli said.

Barrymore quickly replied: “Oh, you Know They are going to be a Van Halen. ”
Regarding the topic of Van Halen’s biopic, Barrymore asked Bertinelli which actress she wanted to play.
“Oh my goodness, I hope they will never do Van Halen. Make sure I die. I told Wolf, ‘Make sure I die.'”
“Oh… Selena Gomez. She’ll be great,” Bertinelli quickly added: “But, Selena, don’t do it! Please don’t do it!”
Barrymore agreed that Gomez would be a good choice and suggested that Bertinelli and her son “fix it out together”.

“I’ll die,” Bettinelli joked, “No, you won’t!”
Bertinelli and Eddie have been married for more than 20 years and have shared a son Wolfgang. Despite split in 2007, the two were still very close until the 2020 rock singer passed away.
Earlier in the episode, Bertinelli and Barrymore discussed John Lennon’s second wife, Yoko ono, who was praised for the band’s breakup.

Bertinelli shared that she compared with Ono, which was why Van Halen announced his breakup in 1985.

Bettinelli said: “Well, I’m called Yoko today.”
Barrymore didn’t understand Bertinelli’s comparison, so she joked, “Oh, don’t you know I broke Van Halen?”

“I wear it proudly,” Bertinelli said of the comparison. “Yoko is an amazing woman. She is an artist. She didn’t break the Beatles. The Beatles have their own problems.”
Bertinelli said Van Halen, like the Beatles, “must have his own problems.”

She continued, “It’s not Ed’s fault, okay? I just put it there. Everyone likes to blame Ed, he can’t defend himself – Ed’s fault, he’s a quiet one…he just wants to write music and play music,” she continued.
