If not touched, your Android phone will now automatically restart after 3 days

The April Google system update includes a new security feature. If you lock your Android phone or tablet for three consecutive days, your device will automatically restart. You need to re-enter your password to turn on the device.

The latest Google Play Services updates are designed to better protect your data when you are not using your device. This is the latest addition to Android’s built-in security and privacy features.

Basically, a forced restart for Android is a way to keep your data safe without forcing you to power off your phone – many of us don’t do anything at once and once a few weeks.

The new feature is similar to Apple’s active-free restart, which was launched in November with its iOS 18.

What else is new in Google Play Services?

In addition to new security features, the latest updates in Google Play services include the following:

  • You can preview content before accepting quick share transfers on your phone.
  • You will see an updated user interface for use and diagnosis.
  • Now it’s easier to set up a new phone and transfer data from an old device.

Google System Updates are available for phones, tablets, wearables, and other Android and Google devices.
