PS5 prices are rising in Europe, the UK and Australia
Now potential PS5 buyers like Europe, the UK, Australia, etc. now need to provide the console up to AUD 100, Euro and other local currencies. Sony announced a series of price increases for the PS5, accusing “the background of a challenging economic environment, including high inflation and exchange rate volatility.” The company last rose the PS5 price in these markets in 2022.
Only the PS5 digital version has changed costs in Europe and the UK. It will increase from €450 ($513) in Europe to €500 ($570) and from £390 ($514) in the UK to £430 ($567).
Prices for both the digital version and the PS5 with optical drives are rising across the board. The digital version rose from $650 ($412) in Australia to $750 ($475). Meanwhile, in New Zealand, the PS5 with optical drives is now NZD $950 ($558), up from NZD $900. These new prices are effective immediately, so if you want a new PS5, you can shop on the weekends.
By contrast, Sony is reducing the cost of buying additional disk drives. Buyers will pay €80 (from €120) and £70 in Europe, under £100.
