Satellite imagery shows “swelling” rivers in Queensland before and after

Satellite images show how a rainy month affects parts of Queensland, Australia.

The image, released by the Atmospheric Research Institute (CIRA), on Wednesday, April 9, shows the differences between Southwest Queensland on March 4 and the same area on April 7.

Cira wrote on X: “The rivers in southwest Queensland, Australia swell.”

According to the Australian Government Meteorological Agency, Queensland had above-average rainfall in March 2025, making it the state’s wettest parade since 2011.
