“Stop pretending to be hard”
Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-ill.), one of only two Republicans on the committee on January 6, investigated President Donald Trump’s attempt to overturn the 2020 election, dared to commit crimes, as a recent harassment suggests he could commit crimes.
Kinzinger was one of many people pardoned by former President Joe Biden before leaving office in January, but Trump announced Sunday that they were “invalid” after a report from the right-wing group earlier this month.
Kinzinger, a critic who often talks about Trump, dared to take the next step on CNN on Monday.
“First of all, I’m trying to figure out why he wants to distract because that’s everything – always distracted to get people’s attention.” “Or maybe he didn’t feel like he was being paid enough attention.
The Oversight Project, a branch of the Conservative Think Tank Heritage Foundation, raised doubts about social media earlier this month about the validity of the documents it claimed Biden signed electronically. The documents include preemptive pardons from members of the House committee, which investigated the U.S. Capitol riots in 2021.
Although many conservatives believe that using automatic opening volumes is invalid, former President Barack Obama has adopted this approach – something that is prohibited by the U.S. Constitution, as many legal experts have pointed out since the beginning of the dispute.
In addition, memorandums from 1929 and 2005 came from the Lawyer’s Office and the Office of the Justice Department’s Legal Counsel said pardons do not require the president’s hand signature. Perhaps most notably, the 1868 ruling declared the presidential pardon to be the final pardon once delivered.
“I think, look, we’re very clear about what happened on January 6,” Kinsinger said on Monday. “The United States made the decision. There’s a guy who is obsessed with the Sixth because he’s basically still considered guilty in the court of public opinion, and that’s Donald Trump.”
“He couldn’t handle it,” Kinsinger said. “He is obsessed with this.”
Fox News recently claimed that it checked over 20 execution orders Biden signed between 2021 and 2024 and found the same signature on each – just adding the signature to the Trump execution order he signed in his two terms “as well.”
Trump himself admitted to NBC News on Monday that he used automatic signatures.
“So, I reacted to him like, you know what? Then!” Kinsinger said of potential allegations on Monday. “Stop talking about it! Stop talking. Stop pretending to be strong. Bring the charges if you really want to do that, because we’ll smash you in court.”
