The clip shows suspects in Indonesia’s corruption case, not “students who insult Prabowo”
After a video of an anti-acute protester video, protesters called Prabowo Subianto a “dog” sparking anger among his supporters in Indonesia, sharing a video in the post that falsely claimed the protester was identified as the head of the student group and was arrested. In fact, the video shows several women taking billions of pounds of embezzlement from a public health centre for allegedly embezzlement.
“Women who insulted the president during the protests were formally arrested,” Indonesia wrote in a Tiktok video shared on February 28, 2025.

The video was released after competing protesters spoke and sang “Prabowo is a dog” during a national demonstration in February, opposing budget cuts from the Prabowo government, aiming to fund plans for free restaurants and other large-scale campaigns (archived here and here).
The austerity measures announced by Prabowo in late January have sparked thousands of student protesters rally across the Indonesian city, underpinned by a social media campaign known as “Dark Indonesia.”
The footage of protesters insulting the president has sparked anger among government supporters and pro-government influencers who say she has “goed too far” (here, here and here archive).
Videos of allegedly showing arrested protesters shared in Tiktok, X and elsewhere on YouTube.
But as of March 18, there were no official reports on the identity of the protester or whether she was detained.
Aulia Thaariq Akbar, principal of the student group at Airlangga University, told AFP on March 14 that the woman photographed the insult Prabowo was not a member of its organization.
Aulia added that no member of his group was arrested after the protests.
Reverse image search on Google using keyframes in wrongly shared videos resulted in the same shots released by local broadcasters Semarang TV’s Tiktok page January 24 (Archive link).

According to local media detik.com, the suspect worked as an accountant at a facility in Boyolali Regency, Central Java (archive link). They allegedly sent Rs 1.9 crore (US$116,000) away between 2017 and 2022.
