Alphabet stock in after-hours trading. The Wall Street Journal reported that the company is closing a deal to acquire cybersecurity company Wiz for about $30 billion. That’s about $23 billion higher than the bid reported before the summer. The negotiations collapsed at the time, partly about regulatory issues and whether a deal would be reached. Now, any deal must be approved, but this will be one of the largest deals so far this year. After much hope, this government will be more comparable to such deals, which remains an open question if they want. So, this will be a closely watched situation.
