Her father told local news that a 4-year-old Washington girl was dragged by a coyote just inches from the front door of the house.
The incident occurred in a series of coyote encounters and attacks in the Bellevue community, prompting state wildlife officials to terminate the evacuation of the two coyotes in recent days.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife noted in a March 12 press release that the recent incident of coyotes was bitten in the hand and was taken to a nearby hospital for “slight injuries.”
“The officers responded quickly to the scene and found two coyotes. The officers were able to evacuate one coyote at the scene, but escaped for the second time. The officers are increasing patrols in the area to find a second animal,” the department said.

Since March 7, five coyote incidents have been reported in the same area of Washington State.
The department fatally evacuated a second coyote on March 13.
The incident involving the 4-year-old girl was one of five reported incidents in a week.
Earlier on March 11, WDFW officials received a report involving human-coyote contact incidents, without injuries in the Factoria neighborhood.
“That morning, a coyote boarded a group of kids waiting at the bus stop, trying to bite them, tear off their clothes and try to pick up their backpacks,” WDFW said in a press release. “Adult intervention at the scene, the school bus arrived; the kids stayed on the bus. Fish and wildlife officials and wildlife conflict personnel responded to the scene.”

On March 7, a coyote picked up a child’s backpack on the sidewalk outside Tyee Middle School and ran into the nearby bushes.
Earlier on March 7, a coyote bit a man in an open garage near Factoria. He was treated in the hospital for minor injuries.
On March 6, a woman sat on her back terrace, with a coyote approaching her from behind and then biting her on her leg. While the coyote continued to hunt her, she was able to retreat from her home near Norwood Village and later suffered minor injuries.

WDFW authorities believe that each incident involves the same coyote.
“Prevention is the best tool to minimize conflicts with coyotes and other wildlife. Put the cat inside, keep the dog’s traction, and avoid walking with your pets in the well-known pet,” WDFW said in a press release. “Don’t leave kids who often see or hear coyotes unattended,” WDFW said.. ”
