“The Bear” Season 4: Read all texts Carmy has sent to since his death

Includes spoiler Bear Season 4, Episode 1.
Bear Season 4 reveals the relationship between Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) and his late brother Mikey (Jon Bernthal), and this season opens with lightning flashbacks from the two of them discussing daydreams of opening a restaurant together.
However, this is not the only insight Episode 1 has given us. Shortly after the flashback, there was another moment, equally poignant but out of reach, where Carmy sent a text message to his late brother’s phone while he was at work – we saw from close-ups that wasn’t the only message he sent.
So, what is Carmy’s texting to him since his death? What does it tell us about their relationship?
What messages did Carmy send since his death?
We’ve transcribed all undelivered messages visible on the screen of Carmy phone below in Season 4, Episode 1:
The top story of chaos
Miss your brother
Saturday, January 21
Find the tomato jar
Wednesday, April 18
You’re right to the Claire Bear
Friday, May 26
Miss you today
today
The restaurant is known as Kerrigan
These are very short, but all of them can be linked to what’s going on in the show. “Find the Tomato Can” is a reference at the end of Season 1, when Carl discovered $300,000 hidden in the tomato canister mentioned in his Leaving Brother’s recipe. “You’re right about Claire Bear” returns to Season 2’s Filles plot, where Mikey calls Claire (Molly Gordon) “your fucking love of life.”
The “Thinking Today” news was sent on the Bear’s Open Day, which we now know now that Maiki plays a key role in naming and funding. The last message is “The restaurant is called Kerrigan’s” and it’s related to the opening flashback we saw in episode 1. Kerrigan’s is probably the name of the Irish restaurant that Carmy and Mikey’s father like.
What does the message tell us?
Carmy’s character is his way of closing, constantly avoiding tough themes and his own emotions. However, we know how much he loves his brother flashbacks and talks about his situation from rare occasions.
But the unpassed message also indicates how much Carmy has thinking About Mikey. During the show, all the most important moments that happened in Cami’s life, from finding money to reconnecting with Claire and opening his own dream restaurant – Maiki kept thinking. Sending text messages to his brother’s old cell phone might be a way Carmy approaches him.
Bear Season 4 is now streaming on FX.
