Police say

Humberside police said in a statement that a former jewellery store manager in the UK was sentenced to 28 months in prison after posting stolen goods and sending them to her colleagues.

Police said Lucy Roberts, 39, often brought jewelry home the year she worked at a high-end store. Police statements do not name the store.

The statement said that only when Roberts resigned and went on vacation did her colleagues realize where the jewelry went. She began sending her former colleagues from a parade that stood out from the items taken from the store.

Sergeant Detective: “No care in the world, dripping diamonds into it, thinking she’s cheating everyone,” Krista Wilkinson said in a police press release.

Police found “thousands of pounds of jewelry scattered under the bed and under the cabinets” after searching the house, the statement said.

According to Wilkinson, Roberts stole more than $170,000 in total diamonds, gold, silver, “custom jewellery” and her employer cash.

CNN cannot determine whether Roberts has legal representation.

Police said Roberts initially denied that she had stole any stock from her employer, insisting that she had borrowed some jewelry from her colleagues who had planted other items in her schoolbags, but later she was in prison for theft of an employee’s theft and was in prison for 28 months.

Police say Roberts was arrested at Heathrow Airport in London. The statement said they detained her after she discovered she was “wearing a large amount of stolen jewelry” and stole the goods in her suitcase.

Body camera footage of the arrest showed Roberts moving more jewelry with Heathrow Airport … trying to dispose of it,” police added.

The store where Roberts used to work said, “I’m glad to finally close the matter in a few years,” the press release said.
