Republicans celebrate Israel-Iran ceasefire as Dems seems to decline congratulations

Republican lawmakers congratulated the president on Monday night after reports that Iran and Israel arrived at the ceasefire less than two days after the U.S. attacked nuclear-rich sites in the Muslim state.

Meanwhile, Democrats at least initially reject their congratulations.

“Congratulations to everyone! There has been a complete agreement between Israel and Iran that there will be a complete ceasefire (in about 6 hours, when Israel and Iran are in trouble, the final mission!), lasting 12 hours and 12 hours, and this is the war that will be seen as the end!” President Donald Trump said on “Social in the Truth” Monday night.

Republicans immediately visited social media and radio to congratulate the president, many praising his negotiating ability after Trump announced it had later verified with Iranian officials.

“President Trump has just done what other presidents can do. All it needs is the American people who elect Donald J. Trump, and the whole world is safer. Ceasefire!” Rep. Nancy Mace, Republican of South Carolina, also added X.

R-Ind. “If this sticks, it’s huge, I don’t know why it won’t,” Rep. Marlin Stutzman of the House of Rep. “Once Iran sees and hears our ability to have B-2 bombers and bunker nemesis, it not only sends a message to them, but also to most of the world, that the president, who will negotiate with you, he wants to find a way to do that, and, if you don’t plan to negotiate, there will be consequences.”

“I think the president did press the reset button and said, ‘Look, let’s really achieve long-term peace for the region.” That has been his goal,” Vice President JD Vance said in a special report with Brett Baier in Fox News. “I actually think that when we look back, we’ll say that these 12 days of war are a significant reset for the entire region. ”

Meanwhile, Democrats seem to be rejecting their congratulations. Fox News’ digital analysis of Democratic congressional leaders’ accounts on X, as of Monday night, showed no congratulations.

But Fox News was able to catch up with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and ask her about her opinion. However, the response from the female congressman is not to congratulate.

When asked about the ceasefire, Ocasio-Cortez told Fox News: “He also said it was a war.” “I think the US president admitted that he unilaterally brought the US into a war without Congress’s approval, which is a very serious public recognition. It is illegal. It is unconstitutional. And, to me, the president is issuing something about the ceasefire, and I think he is so formally acknowledging that it is a very serious matter.”

R-ky. Rep. Thomas Massie, who urged a resolution with Democrats to seek Congressional approval ahead of the attack this weekend, said he would not seek further measures due to the ceasefire.

“I just spoke to the speaker on the floor and told him that if the ceasefire continues, we won’t push it, so it’s really in their court,” according to Politico. Massi added that he will “wait and see” before making the final decision.
