How to set up a WhatsApp account without Facebook or Instagram
There are no shortage of reasons to stay away from the metaecosystem, including Facebook and Instagram, but in some places WhatsApp remains the primary form of text-based communication. The app is a great alternative to SMS because it provides end-to-end encryption and is one of the preferred ways to send uncompressed photos and videos between iPhone and Android users before Apple takes RCS. Even though Facebook later renamed Meta, it acquired WhatsApp in 2014, it doesn’t require a Facebook or Instagram account to use WhatsApp, it’s just a working phone number.
How to Create a WhatsApp Account Without Facebook or Instagram
First, you need to download WhatsApp on your smartphone. Once the application is opened, you can start the registration process by entering your working phone number. After entering your phone number, you will receive a unique six-digit code that will complete the registration process. From there, you can organize on the included smartphone to build the WhatsApp network, but you don’t have to touch Facebook or Instagram at any time.
Additionally, you can request voice calls to deliver the code. Either way, once you complete the registration process, you have a WhatsApp account that is not associated with your Facebook or Instagram account.
If you change your mind and want to make more crossing between meta-apps, you can go to the app’s settings panel to make changes. In Settings, you can find the Account Center option with the meta badge on it. Once you reach it, you will see the options for “Add Facebook Account” and “Add Instagram Account”. Linking these accounts means Meta can provide more personalized experiences on the platform, as personal data that is now connected to each other.
You can always delete WhatsApp account from Meta’s Account Center by returning to the same settings panel. However, any previously combined information will remain merged, but after the account is deleted, Meta will stop merging any personal data.
