Justice Ministry worker charged with murder for allegedly aborting drugs to his girlfriend

Police said a Justice Department worker was charged with death sentence murder after forcing her to lose her baby without consent, allegedly putting abortion pills into his pregnant girlfriend’s drink.

Justin Banta, a 38-year-old information technician, was detained Friday after an incident last October at a coffee shop in Tarrant County, Texas.

“The victim reported that her boyfriend intentionally added a ‘plan’ to her drink (often called abortion medication) to force her to have an abortion without knowing or agreeing,” police said.

In addition to the Texas Rangers’ death penalty, Banta was booked one count of tampering with physical evidence. The Justice Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News numbers on Tuesday.

The Parker County Sheriff’s Office said the victim told investigators that she and Banta were in a “romantic relationship” when they found out they were pregnant in September 2024.

“The victim informed Banta that he was pregnant and he proposed to pay the fee [of] Abortion and advise them to order “Plan C” online. The victim told Banta that she wanted to keep the baby’s wish. Police added. “On October 17, 2024, when the victim was pregnant for about six weeks, she went to an ultrasound, where she learned that the baby’s heartbeat was strong, showed good vital signs, and was said to be healthy by the doctor. ”

The woman said that later that day, she met Banta at a coffee shop. KDFW reported that Banta said she bought a drink before she arrived, and KDFW reported that video from security cameras showed she consumed the entire drink.

“The next day, the victim said she began suffering from extreme fatigue and severe bleeding that prompted her to visit the emergency room. The victim reported that she lost her baby on Oct. 19, which she believed was the result of Banta’s previous unauthorized coffee shops,” according to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said they interviewed Banta and collected his cell phone as evidence. According to KDFW, Banta admitted to buying abortion drugs on his phone and said he knew investigators wanted to talk to him about the woman’s miscarriage.

“Sheeutenant investigators believe Banta, who works for the U.S. Department of Justice IT department, later accessed the phone remotely and performed a “reset”, thus removing important evidence related to the case,” the sheriff’s office said.
