CHATGPT interrupt: This is so widespread, when will it be fixed

Openai was experiencing widespread disruptions Tuesday morning affecting its Chatgpt AI Chatbot service and its Sora tool for AI-generated videos.

The company said on its status page that it is experiencing “higher errors and delays” and has identified the root cause and is working to mitigate the underlying issues. Technical troubles also impact OpenAI’s API, which allows developers to take advantage of the company’s AI model.

Openai noted that the troubles had been going on for 6 hours, meaning they were likely to start around midnight PT.

The searcher service also showed off the power outage reports since then, and then soared a few hours later. (Downdetector is owned by Ziff Davis, CNET’s parent company.)

(Disclosure: The digger is owned by Ziff Davis, who is also the parent company of CNET. In addition, Ziff Davis filed a lawsuit against OpenAI in April, accusing it of infringing on Ziff Davis’ copyright in training and operating its AI system.)

This is a developing story.
