At yesterday’s Global Developer Conference, Apple unveiled its software for its next generation iPhone, iPad, MacBooks, Apple Vision Pro, Apple Watch and Apple TV. Apple’s annual display cabinet for new things has introduced many new features at a live event in Cupertino, California.
Apple’s large presentation offers a liquid glass redesign across operating systems and a unified version number for OSS (all endings like 26, such as iOS 26), except for the Macos Tahoe 26, which still includes tourist destinations. Apple has also launched a new gaming app (mainly hub, but with some group features) that we’ve been waiting for.

The event started with a popular video by Craig Federighi, senior vice president of software engineering, racing in F1 cars to promote Apple’s F1 movies for Apple’s TV Plus Streaming Service.

Liquid glass redesign stole the show
Since iOS 7, Apple’s “gorgeous new design” is all its platforms. It is made possible by better displays and more powerful components.
Apple’s vision for the next operating system interface is almost literally: it’s inspired by Visionos. The new design system is called Liquid Glass and brings a more general translucency to OS elements – the same aesthetic that can provide visual Pro VR/AR headsets to the software.
This means having a lens-like appearance when changing the perspective, with the highlights of the lens and dynamic movement. Navigation behavior will also change.
iOS 26: The new operating system (and named) is formal
Liquid glass may have the biggest impact on Apple’s most popular devices. But, in addition, there is a new unified layout for integrating phone and FaceTime.
Call filter will wait until someone starts talking and tells you who it is, then rings, and Hold Assist will make the call connect in the background and rings you when someone answers. There are many interface elements floating throughout the application, and there are more features to tap.
On Monday, Apple launched the Games App, its long-standing “new destination” for gaming. Arcade has a hug that shows the activities and your entire library of games in one place. Mail gets a customizable background that is shared in chats, group chats can hold polls, where you can request or receive Apple Cash. You can filter messages from recent and unknown senders with notifications.
The emoji generation is smarter by letting you combine and modify Genmoji to reflect more precisely what you want to convey. The new Chatgpt style includes techniques such as oil painting, or it can require a specific style instead of a preset.
Live Translation is now available on this version of OS, and is available when you call someone who is not on your iPhone.
In addition to the new look, it also includes dynamic scaling based on widgets that lock photos on the screen, and iOS can also automatically create Photos 2.5D, which includes works of animated artworks. There are lyrics, live lyrics transliterations, mixed with new Automix features and music pins in the library.
iOS 26 has new gaming apps and live translations.
The camera adds a more simplified process for accessing basic photo and video modes, as well as all options for quick gestures. Library and Collections tabs back to the photos. Apple turns on Visual Intelligence for screenshot searches, you can also use it in the app or call Chatgpt.

The iPadOS 26 becomes more like a Mac every year.
Although lower than iOS, the iPadOS 26 has made more architectural changes in addition to on-site translation, communication and AI capabilities of liquid glass and other devices.
Substantial changes to iPadOS include a new windowing system to improve multitasking. There is a grab handle that can resize full-screen applications to Windows using a flick gesture – it works with trackpad and touch. It looks very similar to MacOS.
The biggest change to iPad OS is a new system for managing windows.

Apple Watch OS incorporates AI into a new workout partner that maintains your fitness history and provides vocal coaches (ugh, Pep Talks) with a final summary of your workout statistics. Workouts have new layouts and custom workouts.
Smart Stack uses more data to determine and predict the features you want soon. Regarding notifications, the volume based on ambient noise in the environment is smarter and adds wrist gestures to disband notifications.
WatchOS 26 will also be equipped with a smarter smart stack.
The new design also penetrates Apple TV Plus and TVOS. Apple has also announced some upcoming new works and existing shows for new seasons, such as Slow Horse and Basics.
TVO will let you jump back to the show faster and use your iPhone as a microphone to enter karaoke.
Together with integrated karaoke, the new TVO includes a redesigned FaceTime app.
Visionos 26 adds more to the business
The operating system already has a look, but Apple’s Visionos 26 is deeper and more real-world. Widgets can be personalized and continuously covered. The operating system will remember the location of the window. Photos can also create spatial views of photos and automatically convert images in articles. The characters may look more accurate.

Collaborative Pro usage is given a collaborative game annotation, but it is for business. If you are using a shared team device, you can save settings on your iPhone. There is also a new eye pattern. The Logitech Muse 3D stylus and PSVR handheld controller are two of the fun new accessories.
