New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who responded to the anti-Semitic terrorist attacks in Boulder, Colorado over the weekend, told Fox News Digital that the city, along with the largest Jewish population outside of Israel, is taking steps to protect its holy places and communities.
“Since the October 7, 2023 Hamas terrorist attack, another kind of terror, evil anti-Semitism and terrorism has been carried out in our country when a man in Boulder, Colorado violently attacked a group of peaceful people in Boulder, Colorado,” Adams said.
“Out of caution, the New York Police Department added resources to religious sites throughout the city ahead of the Sacred Holiday in Hawait. Until we root this unacceptable violence and speech in this unacceptable violence and speech in our community.”
When asked how the city’s posture against anti-Semitic protests changed after the attack, an official told Fox News that Adams has and will continue to protect New York’s Jewish population.

Adams set up an office to combat anti-Semitism—making the Big Apple the first major city to do so.
“This office will be the sledgehammer in this battle, taking litigation and working tirelessly to take root from our city anti-Semitism,” the official said.
Adams called for “anti-Semitism disguised as activism” in the wake of the deadly attack on Jews in Washington, D.C. He ordered the New York Police Department to deploy additional resources after this attack.
In the District of Columbia, Mayor Muriel Bowser’s office spoke in a similar tone when asked how the city’s threatening posture changed. Bowser’s office directed Fox News to digitalize previous remarks made after the Jewish museum attack.
“The Jewish community does not support us by the Jewish community, and we all have to condemn anti-Semitism in all forms,” said Bowser.
On the other side of the country, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass called the boulder attack “a cruel structure of our society and the structure of our belief in Los Angeles.”
Bass said she will hold an emergency meeting at City Hall to highlight safety and security for the Shavuot holiday and the next few days.
Policeman Christopher Bess told Fox News Digital that Miami Beach, which is estimated to have 16,000 Jewish residents, has been focusing on protecting residents since an anti-Israel protest in March 2024, which has led the city council to unanimously pass legislation banning protesters from blocking streets.

Steven Meiner of the Jewish people is in charge of the new law, and Bess said police have also established “very strong operational plans related to the demonstrations – whether pro-Israeli or pro-Palestine.”
“What we have to do is come up with an operational plan, we increase and increase operational demand as needed – we have a dedicated rapid intervention team specializing in [responding to] Civil riots and protests. ”
Miami Beach police attacked the “mechanical, strategic enforcement avenue” issue rather than a macro approach.
Many of these protests have been “smooth” since then, Beth said, adding that the department tried to work with event organizers and the city’s legal bodies to respond in the most professional way.
“If we see anyone escalating the situation, we will take quick enforcement actions to ensure that one person does not harm the entire action.”
“We do respect the First Amendment rights; the rights of the Peace Parliament – stressing peace – if anyone deviates from that, they will go to jail.”
Beth said after every protest that requires enforcement response or preparation, there will be a report to see how you can do better next time.

“Any incident around the country [including Boulder],” he said, “Intel Detectives stay in touch with federal, state and local partners — based on their intelligence, we are able to implement any program that best suits our city. ”
Police added patrols at religious facilities following the Washington attacks – Beth made a partnership with Rabis and added foot patrols.
“That should send a loud message…we won’t tolerate it [violence]. ”
Miami Beach police have used drones as “eyes in the sky” because human officers can’t go anywhere immediately, Beth added. The city is considered very safe for its fanatical reputation, and Beth added that drones can help solve problems such as anti-Semitic protests, as well as responding to simple events on the city’s famous Ocean Avenue.
