Trump official exploded “fake news” in the Washington Post, reporting reports on dock shooting

Andrea Lucas, acting chairman of the Trump administration’s Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), slammed the Washington Post and journalist Jeff Stein, announcing “fake news” about cutting 90% of the EEOC workforce.
Lucas explained that Stein, chief economics journalist at the Washington Post, mixed with unrelated federal agencies.
The post reports: “Offices within the Department of Labor that enforce the Equal Employment Opportunity Act are planning to reduce its workforce by 90%. The article goes on to point out that the Department of Labor plans to cut its Federal Contract Compliance Program (OFCCP) from more than 50 offices and nearly 500 employees to four offices and 50 employees.
Stein also posted on X that the Department of Labor is watching the “*90%* EEOC Office” in the “significant changes” of Elon Musk’s Doge program.

After Lucas summoned the error on X, Stein posted another message saying: “To clarify, the office I mentioned above is an office within the Labor Department that enforces workers’ civil rights laws.”
Lucas said in a conversation with Fox News Digital that the post’s report “destroys” the EEOC’s ability to enforce the law by misleading the public.
“We push back with correction…and wapo [Washington Post] She said, retweeting said, “Oh, I’m talking about OFCCP”, which is actually what he should do if he doesn’t want to keep us straight, but the main message is that the report is misleading.
“The Department of Labor may be considering a major cut to OFCCP. I don’t know. We’re completely separated from OFCCP.”

Lucas said that any potential cuts to the Department of Labor and OFCCP are “completely different from what the EEOC does”, explaining that it is “execution of VII, explicitly creating the EEOC, and providing us with a specific mission to combat discrimination.”
Lucas said the EEOC “operates fully and continues to use lasers to combat discrimination,” which she said includes discrimination representing the interests of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

After four years of the Biden administration using federal agencies to advance DEI, Lucas directed the EEOC to warn U.S. employers that the commission will prioritize the legal and financial consequences of “anti-American bias” against workers during employment.

“Discriminatory employers should be aware that the EEOC is not asleep,” she said. “This kind of fake news can really make the cement slush and make it unclear to workers that the government watchdog is still active and ready to defend them from illegal discrimination, including those related to DEI.”
“I fully support the president’s mission and the Governor’s mission to ensure the efficiency of the government,” Lucas said on Doge.

But she still has confidence that EEOC will stay here.
“We work very hard to make sure we have the most productive workforce and we are looking to make the institution a true and efficient workforce,” Lucas said. “But I believe we have a significant role because our jurisdiction and mandate are directly related to the Civil Rights Executive Order.
“So we are a law enforcement agency, and we are here to enforce these executions and enforce the law.”
