Mike Waltz transfers from security adviser to UN ambassador after signal dispute
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he will nominate national security adviser Mike Waltz to become the next U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
Sources said Waltz left his post in just 100 days in the new administration.
Trump also said in a social media post that Secretary of State Marco Rubio will serve as interim national security adviser.
Waltz, 51, was revealed that Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg was mistakenly included in an uncategorized signal chat discussing the upcoming air strikes by Yemen Houthi Targets.
According to the person on the condition of anonymity, Waltz’s deputy Alex Wong is also expected to leave to discuss the undisclosed personnel move.
Walz had previously assumed “full responsibility” for establishing a message chain, and government officials described the episode as “error,” but the incident did not cause no harm to Americans. Walz insists that he is not sure how Goldberg ends in the message chain and insists that he does not know reporters.

“I hope to get the rest fired, but NSC promoted under Waltz,” Loomer wrote in another article.
Trump’s first administration has a large turnover rate overall, especially in national security positions. Michael Flynn’s term was shorter than Waltz’s, as his misrepresentation of contact with Russian officials was released in the last election. Flynn pleaded guilty twice after the subsequent indictment, even though Trump later pardoned his allies.
