RI (WPRI) Bristol – A student at Roger Williams University (RWU) died Saturday in a medical emergency, the university announced.
According to an email from RWU, junior Paige Moreau was studying abroad in Florence, Italy when a medical emergency occurred.
“University officials have communicated with Peppa’s family to share our sympathy and provide our support,” the email read. “The Moro family expressed their sincere gratitude to the Florence program for their excellent care and compassion.”
The university added: “This family acknowledged that everyone went beyond them to assist them and they recognized the extraordinary effort to save Page.”
A gathering will be held on Monday to bring students together to process in the lounge of the Student Development Building, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
RWU said consulting services and resources are available for the campus community.
The funeral has not been announced yet. The university said it will be shared immediately once more information is provided.
