Those looking to upgrade from an aging tablet to a new iPad should consider the new iPad A16. Not only do we consider it the best budget iPad, but we are now selling it for a smaller price. Several color schemes for the iPad A16 have dropped to $299, with its normal price and a record low of $50. The deal is suitable for entry-level configurations with 128GB of storage, 6GB of RAM and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.

Apple hasn’t increased the price of the latest base iPad compared to previous models, but it adds 2GB of RAM, doubles storage space and installs with a more powerful chipset that completes the most common tasks fast enough, including casual gaming and light photo editing. However, the iPad does not support Apple Intelligence, which is positive or negative, depending on how you think about generating AI.
The build quality is still solid, and the 11-inch tablet will take about 10 hours at a time, depending on the task you perform. On the downside, the attachment is not ideal. Apple Pencil won’t charge wirelessly when you connect it magnetically to your iPad – you need a lightning adapter with a USB-C cable and USB-C to add the battery of the original pencil from your tablet. Magic keyboard support isn’t great either, as the model used with the basic iPad is hard to stabilize on your legs.
However, if the troubles of accessories don’t bother you, this might be the right iPad for your needs. Of course, the iPad Air and Pro lineups have models of a more powerful chipset, but if all you’re looking for is an iPad, you can watch some movies while you’re flying or read news without breaking the bank, that’s probably going all the way.
