CBS, the most important settlement discrimination lawsuit amid ongoing legal chaos
When CBS and its parent company Paramount Global navigated a high-risk lawsuit by President Donald Trump, the media group quietly settled another lawsuit alleging racial discrimination against straightforward white male employees.
In 2024, former “Seals” script coordinator and author Brian Beneker sued Paramount Global, CBS Entertainment and CBS Studios for his repeated denial of his career development in order to deny his career.
According to the First Law of the United States (AFL), he represented Benneck in the case, and both sides finally agreed to what AFL senior legal counsel Nick Barry called a satisfactory move, a satisfactory move that was openly deviating from diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies.

“The United States is first pleased to see Paramount and CBS publicly withdraw from their demands and resume performance-based considerations. Diversity quotas based on racial discrimination are illegal. Others in the entertainment industry should be aware of it.”
Fox News Digital contacted CBS and commented.
An AFL spokesman also told Fox News Digital that no other legal action will be taken in the case.
The initial lawsuit claimed that despite having been on the show since the first season of 2017, Beneker was repeatedly refused to be promoted to a full-time worker, with minority writers having little experience.
When facing the show host, Benneck claimed he was told he did not “check any diversity boxes” to guarantee promotion.

The AFL also quoted past comments from then-CBS CEO George Cheeks in 2020, announcing efforts to ensure that 40% of all writers’ rooms in the 2021-22 season have “BIPOC Representatives” with the aim of increasing the number to 50% of the 2022-23 season.
In February 2025, Paramount Global Head told employees that it would revoke the moves after Trump was re-election and opposition to policies.
This includes no longer using “ideal numerical goals” to recruit and end their policies to collect gender data for race, race, gender or potential applicants unless required by law.

The announcement comes after Paramount Global agreed to mediate with Trump’s legal team earlier this month, suggesting a resolution of the $20 billion lawsuit against them.

Trump sought $20 billion in a lawsuit against CBS, accusing elected of intervening in a “60-minute” interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris last year. The president accused the network of helping his 2024 democratic rival through deceptive editors weeks before the presidential election.
