Strong earthquake

Istanbul – Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Agency said on Wednesday, Istanbul had an initial earthquake of 6.2. There were no reports of damage or harm, but many people poured out of buildings in Istanbul with fear, looking for information on their phones and calling loved ones.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the depth of the earthquake is about 6 miles. Its center is about 25 miles southwest of Istanbul, the Marmara Sea.

There were several aftershocks, including one with a size of 5.3. Disaster and emergency management agencies urge residents to stay away from buildings.
