Gaza Health Ministry says 81 people have been killed by Israel in the past 24 hours
The region’s health ministry said on Saturday that at least 81 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours.
The agency is controlled by the Palestinian militant group Hamas, who said another 422 Palestinians were injured in the new attack.
The latest figures have resulted in 56,412 deaths since the beginning of the war. The ministry did not distinguish between civilians and combatants, and its numbers could not be verified independently.
They are based on the number of deaths brought to hospitals by relatives, which are now being severely restricted.
The Gaza war was triggered by Hamas and other Islamic organizations on October 7, 2023.
About 1,200 people were killed, more than 250 were taken hostages and kidnapped to the Gaza Strip.
Since then, the Israeli military has been fighting Hamas in Gaza, which is said to have destroyed the group.
In the process, much of Gaza was razed to the ground, and the humanitarian conditions for the two million residents of the territory were catastrophic.
