Three California hikers died after jumping into the falls and they did not resurface.
The Price County Sheriff’s Office said on June 18, deputies contacted three hikers, who said three other men in their group jumped into the Rattlesnake Falls in Soda Springs, California, but did not come out of the water.
Delegates described the terrain as “extremely distant and difficult to access”, which made the rescue attempt “particularly challenging”. The Sheriff’s Office added that the Rattlesnake Falls in northwest of Lake Tahoe are located on steep and difficult hiking trails.
