The body of Brazilian tourists is retrieved after falling from Indonesia’s popular volcano

Indonesia’s rescue agency said on Wednesday that the body of a Brazilian tourist fell into a ravine on the popular Indonesian volcano.
Rescuers brought 26-year-old Juliana Marins back to her family for at least five hours as challenging weather and terrain hampered efforts. The ship disappeared on Mount Rinjani on Lunpok on Saturday.

“With this stretcher, it will take a long time,” said Mohammad Syafii, head of the Indonesian National Search and Rescue Service.
An Instagram account provided the latest information from the Marins family throughout the process, Juliana lost over 1.6 million followers. Millions of Brazil also followed the rescue efforts. Indonesian authorities and rescue teams met with Mariins’ family to explain the process.
“It turns out that this family can be very accepting of the situation and the situation facing the conditions,” Syafii said.

After four days of intensive searches, authorities discovered the moving bodies on the ship using a hot drone on Tuesday. Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said he was “very sad” to receive news of her death.
“Our diplomatic and consular services in Indonesia will continue to provide full support to her family at this time of pain,” Lula said in an article on X.
Officials told Reuters news agency earlier that the depth of the ship was about 500 feet when the captain was first found, but by Monday the captain had slid above 1,600 feet.
Gunung Rinjani National Park said in a previous social media post that rescue teams arrived at the Brazilians using hot drones, mountaineering gear and helicopters.

Marins’ last Instagram post shows her backpacking trip around Thailand and Vietnam before arriving in Indonesia.
Lombok Island is a tourist destination known for its idyllic beaches and lush greenery, and many attempt to climb Rinjani, the second highest volcano in Indonesia, to enjoy its panoramic views.
In 2018, hundreds of hikers and guides were stranded by landslides after level 6.4 The earthquake hits the island. At least 17 people were killed throughout the island, including one on the mountain.
