2 Bears escape the walls of wildlife park, swallowed honey for 7 days, and then fell asleep

The park said Tuesday that two cubs escaped from the walls of the British Wildlife Park, swallowed up honey from the food store and then fell asleep.
Mish and Lucy, both four, left the fence at Wildwood Devon, southwest England, on Monday afternoon.
A park statement said the pair made a straight line for their food store, where they laughed at the snacks, which included a seven-day honey supply. The park released a video of Lucy devouring food and was “very satisfied with herself.”
Although visitors on site were escorted to a safe building, the bear “did not pose a threat to the public at any time.”
Wildwood added that during the hour-long drama, the bears “continuously monitored on the ground and on CCTV” until they were sent back to the fence by the keeper and fell asleep immediately. ”

“Our experienced retention team took action immediately after the established safety protocol and successfully used recall training to encourage the Double Bears to return to their fence without any intervention,” the park said.
Police are on the scene and are investigating to determine how the animals manage to erupt. The park said the “operation error” allowed the Bears to escape without detailed instructions.
“This is an isolated incident and we are conducting a comprehensive internal investigation to understand exactly how the situation happened and ensure strong measures are taken to prevent it from happening again,” the park wrote on social media. “While the structural integrity of the bear fence remains uncompromising, we take any operational errors very seriously.”
The park covers 40 acres of gardens and woodland and is home to a range of wildlife, including brown bears, wolves and Arctic foxes.
