Sa Nguyen’s Mukbang video has become famous on her Tiktok, but college students in Orange County, California have a wide range of channels beyond dietary trends. She filmed lifestyle video blogs and content about running, music festivals, her dogs and more.
On Meta Night Out in Vidcon 2025, we talked to Nguyen about her, she needs to grow her audience to 4.3 million followers on Tiktok, 263,000 followers on Instagram and 38,000 subscribers on YouTube.
She told Mashable that she used her phone while shooting Tiktok because it exuded a “FaceTime atmosphere” that the audience loved. She edits directly on the Tiktok app or the Instagram editing app.
“If I’m shooting an Instagram reel, I’ll use the edit and post it directly from the edit,” she said, adding that she also uses Capcut occasionally.
But she didn’t shoot everything with her phone. She also used Apple’s Alix Earle Light and Apple’s wired headphones – but when it comes to cameras, she has three GO-TOSs.

The world-famous Alix Earle Light comes from a brand called Newmowa. This is a clip-on LED light that is popular among creators such as Nguyen.
Canon Powershot V10
Nguyen used her Canon powershot v10 while on the go. She likes that it can stand up at any angle. When she was filming on Canon, she used Final Cut Pro to edit.
Canon XS740
She said she uses the Canon XS740, for example, when she goes on vacation and wants to take photos and videos. When she was filming on Canon, she used Final Cut Pro to edit.
Leica D-Lux 8
However, when Nguyen only wants to take pictures, she prefers the Leica D-Lux 8. “It’s so good,” she said. It can also shoot 4K video when Nguyen uses D-Lux for photography.
