Hailey Welch is a “Hawk Tuah” girl who then caused controversy in 2025’s Vidcon.

Welch is one of the biggest memes of 2024, but it is also related to one of the highest crypto scandals of the year. In November 2024, Welch launched its own cryptocurrency $HAWK, which quickly collapsed and lost millions of dollars in investors. After weeks of silence, Welch finally issued a statement in December 2024, after which he released a video about the incident.
Thursday’s podcast was held at the 2025 Vidcon’s Spotify Podcast Theater, and started with a noisy crowd chanting “Hawk Tuah” as Welch, Bradford and Cummings entered the room. Cummings appears to be playing the guest’s host role as the crew sits down, pushing the conversation as Welch retreats into the seat, playing the guest’s role.
When Cummings brought the conversation to Welch’s work, Welch said her infamy was that she was “in the right place at the wrong time.” As the recording began, the crowd was still very lively, prompting Cummings to tell the crowd to “shut up” several times.
These comments weakened the energy of the room and seemed to disappoint the audience, many of whom got up and left. As the conversation turned to Cummings’ comedy episodes, including tracks that mentioned oral sex, more and more people were rushing out of the room.

Although things seem to settle for the moment, Welch shares that her career dream is to be killed in a horror movie. Cummings encouraged Welch to achieve this by making his own film. When Cummings shares his experience in Hollywood, the creation of his own sitcom Whitneyshe urged Welch and the crowd to make their own content instead of waiting for someone to hire you.
Her speech strolls through ideas about Hollywood, the industry is filled with Nepo Babies and “nerds trying to meet hot girls.”
When describing herself as a tall woman in the entertainment industry, Cummings prompted more strikes by describing everyone in Hollywood as ***** or ad ****.
YouTuber Jack Manifold commented on the X incident, saying: “The slander fell on Talk Tuah Live tonight. #NotMyHaliey is disappointed.”

As the podcast progressed, things seemed to settle down as they entered the audience Q&A.
When fans asked about her cryptocurrency launch in late 2024, which cost investors millions of dollars and sparked lawsuits, Welch said: “Is this looking like the face of a girl who can talk to you about cryptocurrency?” Welch said that if the cryptocurrency was happening to a man, it would be different and he “may be promoted.”
When the group ended, about half of the original crowd stayed, and fans were excited to ask Welch about her life and work.
