Strange days of the Paris Airbus Show (NASDAQ:EADSY), Boeing (NYSE:BA) and Israel’s defense industry

The picture above tells a lot of stories, but not all, strangely. This is probably one of the weirdest Paris Air Shows in recent memory as aircraft maker Eadsy struck some new contracts, Boeing’s leadership stayed away after the crash of Air India, and Israel found itself victim of the strangest Snub in recent memory… as shown above. In any case, both Boeing and Airbus found their shares today, not far from the same amount: modest.

Airbus spent a field activity in Paris and brought home a new sale. Given that Europe is the home of Airbus, and Boeing has had a series of problems (and, due to tariffs, it brings tough situations, it may be expected to be favored by Airbus at the Paris Air Fair. Of course, Boeing did not return empty-handed, but Airbus has collected new orders, including 30 A320neo crafts and 10 A350 cargo planes.

Meanwhile, Boeing was a little softer at the event, with Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg and Boeing Commercial Aircraft (and Executive Vice President) clearly absent. While we know Boeing shows off new things at the event, we also know May is huge for Boeing orders, so it makes sense to have a certain amount of soft presence here. But with India’s recent disaster coloring stuff, especially since the 777 Dreamliner involved, it’s the first such event in aircraft history – it’s no surprise that Boeing may keep some of the top copper tubes home during the event.

But perhaps even bigger than Boeing and Airbus’ problems are the accidental freezing sent to Israel in the introduction of the weapon system. The defense systems that existed at the Paris Air Show were nothing new and should not be surprising. In fact, the report notes that interest in “…the defensive aspects of the show…” is high, especially given the geopolitical conditions these days.

Apparently, the Paris Air Show has given Israeli companies exceptions, and they found that their position was forcibly closed when displaying “attack weapons.” The Paris air exhibition called on Israel to remove their weapons performances, and the Israelis responded negatively. So the black partition you see in the image above is set, overlaying the Israeli display from the view. Legends are written on black with yellow legend: “Behind these walls are the best defense systems used by many countries. These days, these systems are protecting the state of Israel. The French (SIC) government is trying to hide them from you in the name of discrimination!”
