In February, Super Bowl champion and swift receiver Tyreek Hill and “the fastest man in the world” Noah Lyles appeared to have a deal.

Lyles said that while the two sports stars agreed to balance in a game to determine who is really the fastest, the highly anticipated event wouldn’t actually happen.

The 27-year-old won the 100-meter gold medal at the Paris Olympics last summer, and he participated in the Cannes Lions Festival in France this week. Lyles quoted “complications” and “personal causes” when providing the game status.

Lyles suggests that the plan is in its final stages, with the two athletes initially planning to start the game this weekend.

“We really want to create events. Actually, this weekend should happen,” Lyles said through the New York Post. “Something, unfortunately, some things, complexity, personal reasons just didn’t go through, but we’re already full.”

Lyles added that New York City’s famous Times Square is likely to be the website of the event.

“We’re going to have a big event. We’re going to close the New York Times Square and everything. We’re going to have all the billboards for the event. It’s going to be fun.”

Hill recently shared a video on his social media account showing him struggling to sprint while preparing for a friendly match with Lyles.

The video shows that the eight-time Pro Bowl receiver completed a 100-meter race in 10.15 seconds at the Last Chance Sprint Series in California.
