Instagram is conducting another test of reposting feature
Instagram is testing a new repost feature. TechCrunch The report said that the social media network is currently conducting a test that gives users the opportunity to repost content. The focus of the current functional test is to reevaluate posts, i.e. what appears in the user feed, as new posts. The platform does have the ability to share posts with someone’s story, but reposting this post will be a new addition to the available interactions. Meta’s representative confirmed that testing was underway, but refused to add any other comments.
Instagram tested very similar features in 2022 and has been trying a repost button in 2017. Given that the company has tried several times with ideas that have been established on other social networks, it seems surprising that the platform will revisit the idea again. Between posts, stories, reels and DMS, Instagram already has many unique content types. On the one hand, there are many ways to share and repave content, whether it’s your own account or another. But, on the other hand, rules regarding which material can be shared put users in a mess.
