How to download your information from Facebook

Once upon a time, Facebook was filled with posts about the details and albums of your day, and photos of every experience you have. By now, many media may be hidden in the “Only Me” setting. But no matter how much Facebook you use recently, it may be home to many memories you want to keep, or at least have the chance to laugh later.

The good news is that you can download your Facebook information. You can access content such as posts, photos you tagged, groups belonging to friendships, and search history. You can also see the apps connected to you through Facebook and your interactions with ads. However, you won’t see deleted content and may not be able to provide certain information on Facebook throughout your time, depending on when and how the platform stores specific media.

So, how to download Facebook information from Meta? You can start clicking on your profile picture and select the Settings and Privacy tab. You can click Settings and select Download Information. Then click Continue and then click Download or transfer information.

You will be prompted to select the profile to save the information and click Next to reach the “Information to be downloaded” option. Now you have the option to click on “Specific Type of Information” to narrow down what you want and get a copy of the data log. The only decision left is whether you want to download the information to the device or to a specific location.

After submitting the request, you should see a “pending” status and after processing you will have four days to download everything.
