Planned protests followed a riot near the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) facility, multiple rioters in Portland, Oregon were arrested Saturday night and injured four officers.

The Portland Police Department (PPB) said in a press release earlier Sunday that three people were arrested after police responded to “criminal activities” near the federal building near South Portland.

“Arson operations are strictly focused on criminal actions, not constitutionally protected freedom of speech,” PPB said. “Individuals engaged in violent activities or property damage will be investigated and arrested and prosecuted.”

The riots came after the city held a “King-free” protest at 1 p.m., after which the official tagged a “massive free speech gathering” as “massive free speech gathering” and thousands of people participated in the demonstration.

Police responded to federal facilities by 6 p.m. after learning that federal officials were injured by crowds. The PPB told the crowd that it had reported medical incidents on the ice and warned the crowd not to interfere with the medical response.

Police said once the situation stabilizes, police learned that federal officials do not need medical treatment.

Fox News Digital previously reported four officers were injured in the attack, although federal law enforcement was able to ensure the facility was secured.

“Just because the arrest was not on the scene, the tension was high at the time, and that doesn’t mean people will not be charged with crimes in the future,” PPB said.
