Some countries reopen airspace for civilian traffic

Several Middle Eastern countries reopened their airspace to civilian flights on Saturday after a growing number of attacks between Israel and Iran.

According to the State News Agency Petra, Jordan resumed civil aviation operations at 7:30 a.m. (0430 GMT).

Lebanon was followed by 10 a.m., while Syria’s national news agency SANA also announced that it would reopen its airspace earlier that day.

Meanwhile, Iraq suspended civilian flights until the afternoon.

These restrictions are an unprecedented escalation of hostilities, triggered by Israeli air strikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities, military leadership and top scientists.

In response, Iran launched a wave of ballistic missile and drone attacks.

Both sides reported casualties.

Despite the increasing pressure on international downgrades, it seems that none of them are willing to take a step back when they enter the conflict the next day.
