While there are no coastal watches or warnings, the swelling produced by Barbara will affect certain parts of southwestern Mexico in the next few days, the Hurricane Center said.

“These swellings could lead to life-threatening surfing and current RIP conditions,” it said.

The storm is expected to bring heavy rain to the coastal areas of Guerrero, Mount Micho, Colima and Jalisco, and may cause local flooding.

The second storm – Tropical Storm Cosme – was founded on Sunday and slightly enhanced on Monday. It is still in the coastal areas of Mexico, about 630 miles from the tip of Baja, California, the NHC said.

Cosme is expected to reach a near-love power on Monday, then turn to the Northeast and rise to Wednesday on Tuesday.

The Pacific hurricane season begins on May 15, while the Atlantic hurricane season is from June 1 to November 30, with peak activity usually occurring between mid-August and mid-October.

NOAA officials predict There are 60% chances of “normal” during the Atlantic hurricane season, with 13 to 19 named storms. Forecasters said six to ten of them are expected to strengthen hurricanes, three to five likely to be major hurricanes.
