The court told

A man had carried out a “serious series of brutal attacks” that killed a 14-year-old boy and injured five others in a series of unprovoked attacks.

Marcus Arduini Monzo held a 20-minute rampage in Hainault in northeast London on April 30 last year, with a Japanese sword of 60 cm, and a jury of Old Bailey was told under the influence of drugs.

The bearded defendant, 37, was accused of ambushing teenager Daniel Anjorin, who walked to school and repeatedly chopped him on his chest and neck.

Mr Monzo denied the teenager’s murder, along with four counts of attempted murder and one count of intent, causing “all kinds of seriousness” of injury.

Prosecutor Tom KC said in the opening case on Wednesday: “It is clear that many people are going to be killed that morning.

“Daniel Anjorin was the murdered boy. He didn’t know the defendant. He was only 14 years old at the time. He left the home and just walked to school to pay attention to his own affairs and look forward to the day before the defendant was killed.

“His life was instantly extinguished. In fact, to be most precise, he was killed by the defendant.”

The court heard the troops used were “extreme”, but Daniel suffered “destructive and indivisible chopping injuries”.

Mr Little KC said the incident began before 7 a.m., when Monzo was accused of deliberately driving the van into Donato Iwule on Laing Close, who nearly escaped death after being “ejected” into a nearby garden and attacked with the same sword.

“Donato Iwule also knew the defendant. If he did not manage to escape, it seemed inevitable that he would be killed.”

In the dramatic footage presented to the jurors, Mr iWule can be heard yelling “I don’t know you” before trying to run across the street while screaming.

Mr Monzo was then accused of approaching a female witness and trying to lure her by standing on his feet. She managed to escape and was able to call the police.

Shortly thereafter, Daniel was accused of “moving fast like a predator” and hit him with his sword.

In a witness’s mobile video, Little KC said that one onlooker could be heard saying, “He just killed the boy, he just killed him outside my house.”

Emergency services were quickly called up, and police and medical staff arrived shortly after Daniel’s murder. As they approached his body, the court heard that Mr. Monzo approached the ambulance with his sword, forcing them to retreat and preventing them from treating Daniel.

The third person under attack was police officer Yasmin Mechem-Whitfield, who was said to have been injured after “bravely” chasing Mr Monzo in a series of alleys where he was still armed with his sword.

The defendants were then charged with entering a nearby house and attacked Sindy Arias and Henry de Los Rios Polania in their bedroom after their four-year-old began to cry.

During the attack, he allegedly shouted “Do you believe in God?” and “because if you don’t believe in God…” before escaping from property.

The final attack is said to have occurred after Mr. Monzo was surrounded in the garage area, where police inspector Moloy Campbell was injured and then disarmed and arrested.

Searching his property found marijuana and a skinned cat, while a samurai sword was found in his van.

In a police interview, the juror heard that Mr Monzo told the police that “something happened, like a game happened” and compared it to the movie Hunger Games. He also claims that one of his personalities is a professional assassin.

The jurors heard that Mr. Monzo had carried out a series of attacks, but it was his mentality that caused controversy.

Mr Little KC said: “The prosecution case is that it is an obvious murder case, and it is also an obvious case of four murders. We say the defendant’s behavior was caused by drunkenness caused by self-caused drug form.”

“We say this leads to a mental illness, but no one meets the requirement to reduce partial defenses on the basis of responsibility.”

The court heard the defense case would say that Mr Monzo is likely to suffer from a pre-existing illness, which creates “the vulnerability of psychotic events similar to schizophrenia symptoms due to the use of marijuana.”

Monzo denied Daniel’s murder in court last month and inflicted on the murder attempted murder of Donato Iwule, Sindy Arias, Henry de Los Rios Polania and PC Yasmin Margaret Margaret Mechem-Whitfield and the attempted murder of deputy inspector Moloy Campbell.

He also denied articles about the weighting of the knives and the hiding of the blades in relation to the kitchen knife.

The experiment continues.
