House Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters that Elon Musk was “surprised” at the criticism of the “big and beautiful bill” after the two of them discussed the legislation.
Although the spokesman expressed confidence in the bill, he acknowledged that it took decades to reach the point where the Treasury bonds had climbed to more than $36.2 trillion and that it would take more than one bill to resolve the situation.
“The Trump administration needs four years of reform, not two years. Biden-Harris has caused a disaster for every public policy indicator, which will cost us more than one bill to solve it all.”
