Didn’t get Switch 2 on release date? Why can you wait

back Delay based on tariffsNintendo Switch 2 bookings went online and were quickly snapped up. On the eve of the June 5 Switch 2 release, now see new consoles currently sold out, your thumb will twitch if your thumb explodes on social media as people post about the new consoles.

That said, after attending Switch 2 at an event in April, can I help you relieve your FOMO by saying that you can help you while you are waiting?

I felt this way after my full-day switch 2 experience and now I will reiterate: Just as good as Upgrade 2, as fun as new Mario Kart The game with the donkey seems to be – GameCube Game Library It also seems like the explosion of retro fun – Switch 2 is now very iteratively upgraded. The best games on Switch 2 and their most unique exclusives may still be in progress.

Nintendo has apparently designed the Switch 2, at least currently, to serve as a bridge to the current switch, and many upcoming games are also intended to be used on the original switch. Switch 2 is far ahead of the first switch debut, and it is designed to be the system you can wait to upgrade to. In this sense, it follows the path of the current generation Xbox Series X and S and PlayStation 5 Console.

You can build the switch library immediately and prepare switch 2 at the final upgrade

Switch 2 plays all switch games, and the switches and previous Wii U and 3DS hardware aren’t. This means you can skip Switch 2 immediately, play the game on the switch if you want, and move the library anytime. The Switch 2 version costs more (from $10 to $20), but you can buy the Switch 2 game upgrade for a similar price – or play the version you’ve already obtained minus the enhanced graphics and game add-ons.

Zelda: The breathing in the wild looks good on switch 2, but it’s still great on switch.

The current upgrade of the Switch 2 is good, but not shocking

After playing several versions of the Switch game with the Switch 2 version, I noticed better frame rates and graphics resolution, but honestly, I didn’t find that different. I prefer playing the enhanced Switch 2 version, but the experience reminds me of some PS5 Pro Games with my PS5 version Playing on a gaming console with Sony for the first time last year.

If you have a big TV, you may appreciate the difference. The larger Switch 2 screen shows high-resolution 1080p games using HDR, but you can play on older switches and it can be fine. I’m playing Switch OLED Again, after the Switch 2 experience, I didn’t have the huge I-Wish-this-A-Switch-2-nvy.

I’m sure this will change as the game develops to better leverage the Amped-Up Nvidia-Power Switch 2 GPU and when more exclusives arrive. This is similar to mine Metaquest 3its graphics are better than the Quest 2, but it didn’t feel absolutely necessary until a year after its release.

You can still play the upcoming Nintendo games on the OG Switch

Although Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza are Switch 2 exclusives, Metroid Prime 4 Beyond and Pokemon Legends Za also play on the Switch. It’s not clear how these games perform on the Switch vs. Switch 2, but you can get the new Nintendo on older hardware this year and upgrade the hardware later. Think of it as a FOMO buffer.

In the years since the new hardware was released, the company looked at Nintendo’s gaming history, often supporting its previous consoles. I hope that after 2026, Switch 2 will start to be the go-to platform for most large games, but I won’t be surprised to see a few key Nintendo games support the original Switch for at least at least another year.

You can use Switch 2 Joy-con (like mouse), which is cool, but we’re also curious to see how many games support this mode.

Apart from game chat, that camera and mouse, you don’t have any other “new experience”

The original switch is eye-opening because it is a portable, complete gaming console that can be docked with your TV and turned into a shareable console using a modular controller. It’s different from everything Nintendo has done before. Switch 2 is mainly the same proposition, but it’s better.

Since this is a continuation of the same idea, you won’t feel sorry for missing out on a brand new way of playing. You might envy two new features: audio or video game chat between friends, while the new Joy-Cons works like a mouse in some supported games. But game chat only works for other Switch 2 owners and requires an online subscription. The mouse function is fun at times, but it can also end up being just a head. As of now, the Switch 2 hasn’t pulled many wild new features out of the hat, but knowing that Nintendo may change. There are also some interesting Mario Party Jamboree’s camera party game mode if you happen to have a camera connected, but other games even have new camera-based features.

Can wait, but tariffs are still a question mark

I’m talking about it, before I had the chance to review the Switch 2, it’s certainly the best Nintendo console in a long time worth upgrading. But even if you regret it is attractive, comfortably miss this time getting a big deal earlier this time.

The only wildcard is still a problem with effect tariff Future pricing. Will it fluctuate? I hope not, but the price of Nintendo Switch 2 accessories has risen due to the chaotic tariff policy of the Trump administration, and it is not clear whether this will happen again. Pricing and consumer electronics status are still in unknown areas. Meanwhile, you can have a lot of fun now and even in the near future on the switch you already have.
