DCCC Chairman targets Republican House Majority as Democrats face internal challenges
Early moves heat up in the battle for a House majority in 2026, with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) chairman seeing incredible damage to President Donald Trump and Republican majority in the House and Senate working families and our country and our country. ”
DCCC Chairman Rep. Suzan Delbene, Rep. Suzan Delbene, defended the House Razor’s majority in next year’s midterm elections.
“We have 35 regions across the country,” Del Bayne said in a Fox News digital interview in the national capital last week.
“We are on the offensive. We are fighting for the American people and the important issues they care about, and the Democrats are united.”

Those in power after the presidential election (currently Republicans) usually lose their House seats in the subsequent period when facing political headwinds, but the 2026 map seems to favor Republicans.
“The battlefield really laid the foundation for our advantage. There were 14 Democrats who won the Donald Trump seat. There were only three Republicans on the seat. [former Vice President] Kamala Harris. So, this tells me we are going to attack.

Delbene retorted: “The reason we have opportunities is because people are angry because they do want to see someone fighting for the community, not just blindly loyal to the president.”
She noted that in the 2024 election, the Little Bite Democrats stood out from the Republican majority, adding: “These are the types of candidates that we won in the last cycle of our region. That’s why we actually got the seat in 2024, and that’s definitely why we’re going to take back the majority in 2026.”
But Hudson points out that he has a strong ally because he struggles to control the house.
“The president knew he had to maintain a House majority in the mid-term so he had a four-year runway, not a two-year runway to set the agenda,” Hudson said. “He was very helpful to us and we thank it.”
Democrats are facing a dilemma of polls, as the party’s rating has been at historic lows in many national surveys so far this year.
In a survey conducted April 18-21, Democrats rated 41% in the Fox News poll, while 56% rated 56%.

This is the lowest for Democrats on the Fox News vote. For the first time in a decade, the party is below the Republican Party, Its advantage is 44% and its disadvantage is 54%.
The numbers were reversed last summer when Fox News last raised the question of party favor in one of the surveys.
But Democrats have a silver lining.
Fox News polls show that if the 2026 midterm elections are held today, 49% of voters will support a regular Democrat in their congressional district, with 42% of voters supporting a regular Republican candidate.
Democrats also have another problem – the main challenge facing long-term and older House lawmakers in the safe blue area.
Recently elected as Vice Chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) David Hogg Last month, House Democrats who promised to spend millions of dollars in his external political groups in support of what he called “sleeping on the steering wheel,” he believes he is not effectively opposed to Trump.
Hogg, 25, acted as a survivor of a shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in South Florida seven years ago to spend money with Democrats, igniting a fire within the party.

In response, Del Bayne said: “Democrats across the country united to take back the house.”

Fox News asked if Hogg’s move would force the DCCC and Allied Super PAC to move funds and resources from competitive areas to competitive areas to defend the defender incumbents in a safe blue area from the main challenges, but Del Bayn replied: “I think everyone knows the importance of us knowing the importance of recapturing the house and making sure we help across the country.”
But the dispute is giving Republican ammunition.
