Venus hides dangerous asteroids, including those that may be “city killers” if it affects the Earth: Research
Experts say Venus is hiding some asteroids that could be fatal if they affect the Earth.
According to a new study published in the Journal Astronomy and astrophysics.
Research from the University of São Paulo, led by Valerio Carruba, said some of these asteroids “could pose a collision hazard to the Earth.”
In fact, research shows that many of these asteroids “can suffer many close encounters on Earth, and perhaps collisions.” A particular asteroid is even considered a potential “city killer.”
According to researchers, gravitational transfer and other factors could cause many of these space rocks to be pushed toward Earth.
But the study says these potentially dangerous asteroids can be hard to spot, making it harder to predict how they interact with the Earth.
In addition, experts said: “No asteroids have been found in the internal solar system, which may cause significant damage to the earth.”
“Although it’s like from [Vera] The Rubin Observatory may be able to detect some of these asteroids in the near future, and we believe that only dedicated observation activities from space missions near Venus can potentially map and find all still “invisible” PHA [potentially hazardous asteroids] In the common bone asteroid of Venus,” the researchers said.

According to the Daily Galaxy, the Villa Rubin Observatory is expected to start full operation in July 2025.
The observatory could help improve detection of these potentially dangerous asteroids, but experts say the Sun’s positioning will only provide a limited window of time.
