Iran accused of being monitored by Israel

According to state media reports, Iran has executed a person convicted of spying on Israel.

Pedram Madani was hanged after the Iranian Supreme Court upheld the lower court’s death sentence.

Madani visited Israel and met with Mossad officials, providing them with confidential information about Iranian buildings that installed “infrastructure” equipment, the official IRNA news agency said.

The report noted that Madani received foreign currencies and cryptocurrencies in exchange for information, but did not provide further details.

It said Madani also met Mossad officials at the Belgian Israeli embassy. Israel’s security agencies did not immediately comment.

Authorities arrested Madani, 41, in 2020.

In April, Iran executed a man convicted of working with Mossad and killing a Tehran revolutionary defender colonel in 2022.
