Apple’s free CARPLAY upgrade will eventually stop call interrupt navigation. This is everything that is coming

After more than 10 years of helping drivers connect with their iPhones, Apple Carplay is now backed by over 800 different models of cars and motorcycles, and it will undergo a major makeover in its appearance and how it operates.
Apple will announce the newly revealed Carplay experience for iOS 26 during its annual WWDC event in Cupertino, California on Monday, June 9. Apple announced changes.
The tech giant says Apple’s iPhone-compatible car operating system is used more than 600 million times a day. The entire Carplay system will be refreshed, including icons in light and dark modes, widgets, so that you can give you a “fast and audible way to get information” when you move and lively (such as flying status).

“We’ve also added new features to help you stay connected while driving, like a compact design when you get a call, so you can still see what’s on the screen like the upcoming direction, as well as Tap Backs and pin conversations in messages,” Apple’s Emily Schubert said during WWDC Keynote.
Now, there are also vehicle controls in Apple Carplay, including radio and climate control.

During the keynote, Apple’s footage also shows that you can send emoji reactions to messages on the go without navigating from the direction of the journey. You can also view calendar reminders and smart home controls in the widget on the side of the display.
Apple launched the Carplay Ultra last month, bringing more custom features to automakers.
“It provides information to all the driver’s screens, including real-time content and the gauges in the gauges, while reflecting the look and feel of the automaker and providing a customizable experience for the driver,” Apple said in a May blog post.
