Video footage of a fatal official shooting released by police

Officials released body camera footage showing the chaotic moments of a deadly official shooting in Fairfax, Virginia in April. In a press release that came with the videotape, the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) called the incident a “attempted murder.”
On April 23, an official pulled Jamal Wali, 36, to speed. Valli also has expired security check stickers. When he was pulled over, Walley slammed the brakes, noting that the officer who had initially approached Walley’s vehicle.
Valli then informed him of the armed officer and asked why he had been pulled. From there, things changed in a mess, as the apparently distressed Valli began to yell, curse, refuse to name and say he did not have a driver’s license or vehicle registration.

As officials tried to expand the situation, Walley launched a complaint about how he received treatment in the country and said his U.S. military translator in Afghanistan came to the United States later.
“I should serve with the Taliban,” Walli shouted to the officer.
Walley eventually took out a GoPro-like camera and started recording traffic sites. Police later obtained the video and included it in a BodyCam video released to the public on Friday.
Two other FCPD officers arrived to assist the officers who initiated the traffic station, one of whom stood on the side of the driver and the other on the side of the passenger. Valley finally reached for the weapon and fired a shot at the two officers on the side of the driver. According to FCPD chief Kevin Davis, a bullet penetrated two officers’ weapons and then hit a parked car across the street, breaking the rear window.
Walli was shot and taken to the hospital and was later pronounced dead.

“When life is dead, it’s always a pity. Mr. Valley is no longer with us,” Davis said in a press conference announcing the release of the footage. He confirmed that Valley married four children as he claimed during his tense interaction with the officers.
“The impact on these children is unimaginable and they will carry them with you for the rest of their lives, so we take that very seriously,” the person in charge said.
Davis saved the lives of other responding officials.
